DUO SILAS - Catch !
After meeting each other on a personal level, Roel and Eva discovered their shared passion:
The thrill of throwing and catching, be it an object or a human being. This common love quickly evolved into the creation of their first street show and continued to flourish until it led them to finding their shared space high above the ground on the trapeze.
EVA
From a young age, Eva discovered her love for circus, especially aerials, at a youth circus in Germany. When she learned about professional circus schools, she took the opportunity and acquired her Bachelor in Circus and Performance Art at Fontys Circus in the Netherlands. As catcher of the trapeze duo Passe-Pieds, she earned recognition with achievements like the Silver medal at the European Youth Circus Festival Wiesbaden and the Bronze Star at Young Stage, Basel.
Upon meeting Roel, Eva switched roles to become a flyer, utilising strength in strong woman stunts.
In addition to her performances, she shares her expertise by teaching aerials at Codarts Circus Arts in Rotterdam.
ROEL
At the age of 11 Roel touched for the first time juggling material and since then he was hooked!
After years of training at a youth circus and juggling festivals, it was time for the next step: Circus school. He went to Codarts circus arts to develop his juggling and performing skills.
Since then he has done 500+ performances from local festivals to places as far as Dubai, Bahrain and Hong Kong.
During the last years he started to work with heavier “juggling” material: As a catcher on trapeze he now throws Eva through the air!
